him, no new permits are being approved.

The permits that are being approved are for ongoing drilling for safety reasons. For example, drilling under the ocean floor an obstacle necessitates the drilling to adjust its position. That requires a permit and that's what we've been seeing.

I'm paraphrasing wildly because I'm unfamiliar with the terms he used, but I think this is the gist of it.

And, I'm just the reporter - I don't know if it's BS or or an attempt to calm us down or actually the facts.
