I got a call from the DSCC yesterday.
Woman read a prepared spiel (and didn't sound too enthusiastic about it) about how Obama and the Senate Dems were fighting the good fight against all those bad, bad obstructionist Republicans and how they needed my help ($$$). I politely interrupted her near the end and said, "I've been a Democrat all my life and I don't believe that anymore." and ended the call. Oh, and my membership renewal for the DNC came in the mail last week. I've been a member for a decade now. That went into the shredder.

Fuck you, DSCC. Fuck you, DNC.

3. In many ways, obsolete
These national organizations, just really formalized "bundlers" really, are conceivably becoming obsolete. When you realize how much easier it is to donate to an individual candidate these days, why mess with organizations like this? And in this day and age of "grassroots" fundraising tactics like "money bombs", why would someone particularly "waste" a contribution from a telemarketing call. Better to "time" that donation with a bomb, or a vote, or some other event so that it gains "meaning". If the DSCC wants to stay "relevant", they might wanna consider establishing a mechanism like ActBlue or other organizations that enbable you to "choose" which candidate to make donations, and to "connect" it to various actions or polls.

4. When Howard Dean was head of the DNC
I was donating $50 a month and that money was well spent (50 State Strategy). With this bunch any money donated goes against my interests (Arlan Specter anyone).

5. I'm afraid they'd send my money to someone like Blanche Lincoln.
I haven't donated to the DSCC or the DCCC since
the Cegilis incident.

I don't trust the Emanuels and Schumers in our party.
