Protection of soldiers is more important than the impression that people on the Internet get when they remember WW2 films.

I served with three men I knew to be gay and all three were amongst what I would consider the best soldiers in the Army.

All three came out to me and I violated the UCMJ by refusing to report them. This was in the very early 80s.

If I had to go back and do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.
