3. This is great news
Saladzar (sic) was mumbling something along those lines.
He has to be careful how he goes about this removal of BP from the front.

What matters is that the talking heads are now talking about what we are demanding. Progress. Eh?

7. Yes it is! Salazar was also critical (and sounding disgusted) at how many deadlines
BP has missed.

I think they've had it. Hope so!

4. I hope this is true. I keep writing, my friends continue to write and call
the Gulf can't wait for BP to dream up the perfect, profitable solution that both takes care of the problem and fulfills their fiduciary responsibility to their investors.

We have been lied to before, eh?

If it is for real there is finally some pressure on BP.

12. Exactly! I would hope that the public outcry has been more than Obama & Congress can take.
Who's gonna vote for them if no one sees them trying to solve this mess?!

8. He has dilly-dallied just long enough......
so that when the oh-so efficent US Gov falls flat on its face with its attempts to seal the leak he can shift all the blame to BP & their initial failures.

That's a politician for you.:eyes:

America is dumbfounded, believe it. They can't believe that BP is in the drivers seat. And they are being heard, yall are not alone.

Obama told us: Make me do it. Well....

It is spreading like wildfire. From your lips to Obama's ears.

No, it isn't gonna solve the problem overnght, but it is good news that we are being heard.

Tonight, we are all Louisianians.

15. That would be great if translates into action.
We've been told unequivocally over and over by some here on DU that the way it has and is currently being handled is the only way it can be handled.

That we cannot expect Pres Obama to be any more aggressive. That we should STFU, so to speak. Maybe not.

17. Hell fucking not
The people are speaking. And the people are right: Get on this, Obama.

Those naysayers are just thinking about Obama and not about what may happen if change doesn't come. They'll be begging forgiveness once they see the power of the presidency.

26. The people ARE speaking.
I've signed and added to every letter and petition from every environmental and public pressure group since this started. They've been getting plenty-- from letters to Salazar, Congress, to the WH itself. Let's hope it continues, overwhelmingly.

21. There's no time for pettiness, only a 50% chance we can fix this, even in 2 months
I've been researching. This is bad.

The Top Kill may not even be attempted due to risk.

If they act imprudently they could blow open the well.

After that it's the relief well and all along there is a risk that
the BOP will fall apart and even more oil will be released.

OBAMA KNOWS THIS.

23. yeah
It isn't just the well head. It's what is in the water already and the oil that is to come.

BP seems to think that its 'not going to be all that bad'. That 'BP has more than enough resources'. Well that's just plain wrong.

In official terms, BP is the 'Party of Responsibility'. So far, they have not been acting very responsible, and I think the time has run out on BP. 35 days was more than fair. I mean, do you feel better about the whole thing after these 35 days?

Action, not words. Now, not later. Mobilization, not idleness. I'm ready. Provide me with a respirator and I will be there.

31. Excellent! But don't forget the containment, skimmers, and cleanup!
as a matter of fact I would order ALL Big Oil companies to STOP ALL deep water drilling, and get their asses to the Gulf to Assist, ASAP.

Not one more drop to be pumped until they demonstrate they can deal with a disaster like the ongoing one in the Gulf.

Betcha that would get them motivated, and off their collective asses!

give'm hell Obama!
