Have you heard of a rig called Deepwater Horizon?
Manned by hard working men near the land of the Cajun?
She did not fly the Stars and Stripes of the land of the free
And for that price she's in her grave at the bottom of the sea.

Well, eleven men went down in that dark watery grave
When that oil rig went down they kidnapped those who were saved.
'There they were told to tell a lie before the day was done.
Sign right here no harm to you if you want to see your loved ones.

It was there in the dark waters of that unstable site
Those that said the rock wouldn't hold were proved right.
Then a whine and a rock and a great explosion roared
And BP's greed laid Deepwater Horizon on that cold ocean floor.

Now tonight there are lights in our country so bright
But BP is turning our shore waters black as eternal night.
No way to shut the flow off, just bear up til it's all gone.
But we can shine a light on those from Deepwater Horizon.
