Palin issues "wake-up" call at DU

With her trademark plain talk and pitch that bring roomfuls of loyalists to their feet, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin implored 3,500 people at the University of Denver on Saturday to "wake up" because, she said, "I can see November from my house."

"We put a man on the moon. . . . We can measure . . . tiny babies in utero," she said. "But we can't build a fence to secure our border?"

She said the newly passed Arizona immigration reform bill was within the state's right to take action.

"Why does he (Obama) keep pickin' on Arizona?" she said. "This is kind of the way things are being run right now in D.C. . . . Perhaps they can go ahead and criticize a bill that they haven't even read."

She told the crowd to "bookmark" the law "on your BlackBerry."

"Even I can read it," she said, raising her hand. "It's not a difficult thing."

Palin concluded her speech with a tribute to Reagan. She compared his foreign policy with Obama's, saying the president needed to stop "apologizing" to foreign countries — most recently to China. She warned that "Reagan is still spying" down on us.
