You assume that I believe that plumbers are somehow representative of a "lesser" class of people.
I get it now.

No, I chose "plumber" because the guy looks a lot like my friend and neighbor Ralphie, who is... a plumber.
Maybe that's why yet another of these nasty little "caption the bagger" threads pissed me off.
Ralphie came over last week and replaced a piece of pipe that was leaking, that goes to the hose in my backyard. Took him about 15 minutes. When he was done I asked him how much he wanted, he said "don't worry about it. Just crack open a couple of beers and let me hang out in your yard for a few minutes." He doesn't have a yard and it was a really nice day. We chatted over a beer, and then I watered the plants.

I thought your question "why do you hate plumbers" was facetious, as is most of what seems to take place on DU lately. But you actually thought that I hate plumbers!

I'm slow sometimes, I admit it. But your question actually speaks to your prejudices, not mine...

Why were you focused on my comment, and not on what these people "contributed"?

I think if someone goes to a public place dressed up like a clown, with a misspelled sign and tea bags stapled to the brim of their hat, then maybe they are asking for it and are fair game.
This man, however, is just sitting there, not seemingly looking for attention.
And now, simply because he's overweight (and maybe more than just a little misguided), he's attracted these disgusting comments. What do you think about that?
