Colorado DUers - I'm watching Andrew Romanoff on CSpan-
Tell me - is he as impressive in real life as he is in this speech?
Going after the oil money in the democrats pockets! Spineless members in DC, saying HCR was only the beginning.

He has fire in his speech - pleasing to listen to, and to look at.

Do tell...

3. He's one hell of a man. He's articulate, knows what the fuck he's talking about and has turned our
Legislative around from being the so-called "permanent" minority since 1975 to a majority in his 2nd of his 4 terms. He was elected as the Speaker of the House. Passed several key laws that have helped Colorado tremendously.

4. So he's running to unseat Bennett?
Sorry if these are stupid questions..I haven't been paying much attention to other state's politics....being from Az, been pre-occupied with my own...

I just happened to have CSpan on as background noise and when he came on I sat down to listen to him. If we can't get rid of our insane governor, maybe I'll move to Colorado :)

Got to see him in person, shake his hand, vote for him as a delegate!

I also got to meet Senator Bennet, who actually is a nice guy in person, though today's meeting was awkward, because I was wearing a Romanoff button...

7. I was there, too!
I was with three others, all Romanoff supporters. My favorite part of his speech was when he said of (to) the current U.S. Congress "Stiffen your spine or step down!!" The crowd roared. It truly was electric.

I've been pretty annoyed with Bennet ever since he wrote that letter about the public option, and then just let it drop when the time came. I asked the guy next to me yesterday why he was supporting Bennet, and he said "Well, because someone asked me to, and because Obama endorsed him." I tried to tell him that Obama also endorsed Blanche Lincoln and Arlen Specter, but he stopped listening. That's kind of what we (Romanoff supporters) are up against.

He won big, though. 61% to 39% so I'm encouraged.

And yes, he is a very vibrant speaker, but I truly believe he's got the guts to go kick ass and take names. He's not taking any corporate or special-interest cash for his campaign. His campaign slogan is "The Best Senator money CAN'T buy". He asked Bennet to join him, but Bennet had already started collecting, so he really couldn't. So....if you have an extra twenty in your checking account, Andrew could use it.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but I'm a big supporter, and get kind of excited about it.

He is pretty cool I only met him once before Obama stole Salazar and Gov. Ritter skipped Romanoff for Bennet in US Senate.

10. We have a genuine 'embarrassment of riches'
with our candidates this year. In the Senate race, both Bennet and Romanoff are extraordinarily qualified. Bringing a touch of added significance to the eventual November contest, the winner of our August primary will be a descendant of recent immigrants; either Romanoff or Bennet is going to view immigration (and the circumstances that drive it) and any mechanisms of reform from a perspective that diverges from that of the GOP candidate. That's especially true if Ken Buck, currently Weld County DA, is their choice; he recently got spanked by the state supreme court (again) for going on a fishing expedition through all of the files of a local tax preparer whose customers are primarily Hispanic. He's no friend of the Hispanic community, and was part of the effort to unseat the Greeley mayor who presumed to advocate for humane considerations following the raids at our meatpacking plant. Buck's influence has been responsible for ramping up racial fears, widening divisions in the community. Buck also chaired erstwhile Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's campaign committee. It would be difficult to field a candidate more diametrically opposed to the value systems of either Romanoff or Bennet.

It's only going to get more interesting as we approach November.

madamesilverspurs, (hows your mountain?) J/K... Have you seen this? http://www.coloradopols.com/diary/12508/shocking-willie-horton-story-upends-attorney-generals-race

in the attorney general Race, it appears that the current AG (Southers)set a serial killer free. While working tirelessly to curb Medical marijuana dispensaries..
