Randi Rhodes caller: "BP is making sure that area is so destroyed the ONLY thing
it will be good for is oil drilling."

This was a few days ago. The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking she may have hit the nail on the head.

1. I'm afraid it was ruined before the leak. Barely hanging on. Nearly fully exploited.
When Oil People look out over the Gulf, they don't see what you and I see.

I posted an OP with graphics of what's out there now.

You'll be astonished.

It's already ruined, accidents waiting to happen, it was only a matter of time.

4. I forwarded your thread to Norman Goldman earlier. I was listening to him in
the car and he's livid. He said he can't even blink anymore his eyes are perpetually wide open in shock with everything he's learning about this horror. I thought "I'm going to send NYC-SKP's thread to him, his eyes will pop open so wide he'll fall backwards in his chair." So I did. :)

Keep this at hand - it's sobering and helps put it in perspective. We hear numbers and are stunned, but to SEE how out of control it is, how many bazillions of holes we've punched in the ground, it's stupefying.

5. I lol'ed reading this.
Glad you're forwarding it.

I didn't realize myself how far gone things are out there, and this infrastructure is under extreme conditions- high pressures, currents, and in a corrosive environment.

And not easily inspected for flaws.

Unbelievable.

Thanks.

8. That sounds unreasonable.

As a corporation they are losing money right now. Killing an ocean wouldn't make economic sense.

10. When Katrina survivor Mama D
Journeyed to the Capitol to testify about the levee failure she made several comments about well known businessmen eyeing the lower ninth territory. She also let the American people know about basic services being denied for residents but somehow when dubya appeared with his misbuttoned blue shirt the electric grids magically powered up. The bottom line is they want us out, all of us. We are not safe from the evicted in Baltimore to the drowned out in the Gulf. the wealthy have targeted our homes and families. I'm sure sabotage is written all over the oil gusher.

12. While it seems tinfoilly....

I wouldn't put it entirely out of the question. It would be good for the bottom line and that's all those bastards care about.

14. No endangered species: no prohibited areas.
No food stocks: tighter control of food for big food corps.

Less biodiversity: less knowledge of what was among future generations.

Diminished education facilities: less knowledge of what was and what is among future generations.

Think these guys care about "democracy" and human progress?

War. Disease. Famine. Ignorance. This is the plan for us and our children.

Maybe Hillary will head to Iowa. I'm wanting a rematch as I would vote for her this time (or any other one smart enough to primary BO).
