3. It would be an interesting test case
It would take somebody with a bigger tackle than mine to try it.

No doubt, she will be much taller than I am.

8. Why Arizona? If a cop stops you anywhere in the U.S. they ask for I.D.
They don't where you are from? Of course in your profile it says you are from anarchy so I guess there are no cops there at all. But in the U.S. they all ask for papers.

9. They don't ask for your passport.
Oh and I was born and raised in Phoenix.
The new legislation sucks and never in all the times that I have been out there have I been asked for "my papers".
My family who live there ALSO thinks the legislation sucks.
So, if you are "really" from there...I'd have to wonder why you are so calm about it?

21. They don't ask for that in Arizona either
But you knew that and just want to throw some shit in there. If you have never been asked for a drivers license when a cop stops you then you are an tiny exception. And that is what the law says -- drivers license or state i.d. -- not passport.

14. Not all police interaction with drivers is due to driver error.
What about sobriety checkpoints?

It's easy to convince yourself that this law will only harm people who "screw up" -- if they're speeding, have outdated tags, etc. But if we get an influx of ginger immigrants, then I'm going to feel really damn uncomfortable driving in Arizona even if I do have my driver's license, because I do not carry my birth certificate and social security card with me anymore (I finally got a safe deposit box). Nor do I have a passport, nor does Arkansas comply with the "REAL ID" mandates so my driver's license can't be considered proof of my citizenship.

This law will erode any trust that law enforcement has been able to develop in the Latino community, particularly among first and second generation immigrants who do not speak much English (documented or not). It's already hard enough to get them to come forward when they have information about a crime because they associate "law enforcement" with the INS. Now we're making law enforcement a branch of the INS! And in the case of undocumented workers whoa are witnesses to violent crime, is a standard uniformed cop aware of the intricacies of asylum visas, to convince a person who has been victimized by crime that if they testify to prosecute the offenders that they do not automatically have to get deported? I sincerely doubt it.

16. Now, my idea is ludicrous right from the state because I won't be travelling to that state
but, "if a cop stops me in Arizona and say "papers", I'm going to hand him a copy of the Bill of Rights"
