BP says they are concerned about the environment. |

OK.
But what it comes down to is this.
Social responsibility ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS takes a back set to share price.
Remember that the next time you hear some CEO spouting off about "doing the right thing".
If it does not affect the share price, they truly do not give a shit.
What matters to BP is keeping the share price propped up for as long as possible. This means holding off the lawsuits as long as possible. This means maintaining their "reputation" as long as possible by outright lying to the public. It means temporarily and perhaps permanently not disclosing the true impact of the oil leak.
Once you REALLY understand this concept...it is quite easy to see through the smokescreen that is BP.

1. "We're concerned about the environment," BP said, as they |
|
dump several-hundred-thousand gallons of toxic chemicals into the Gulf of Mexico.
