Letter spurs Rick Romley to warn Joe Arpaio
Sheriff Joe Arpaio has sent letters to current and former attorneys in the Maricopa County Attorney's Office warning them to watch their words if they speak to investigators looking into possible unethical conduct by former County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

The letter threatens the attorneys with criminal charges if they reveal "confidential" information about the sheriff's inquiries into county Supervisors Don Stapley and Mary Rose Wilcox and Superior Court Judge Gary Donahoe.

Interim County Attorney Rick Romley responded with a letter of his own warning Arpaio that he was overstepping the authority of his office.

1. Isn't conspiring to obstruct an investigation a crime in itself? nt

3.  Romley is GOP but he isn't nutz. I may not agree withn Rick on a whole lot

but he isn't crazy and he respects the law and doesn't think himself above it, as does Arapaio and Thomas. Joe was furious when Romley was selected to replace his buddy. Both Andy and Joe should fry!

4. Good for Romley. He never was a fan of Arpaio's, that's for sure.
I was happily surprised to see him replace that Arpaio-enabling crook, Thomas.

7. They're investigating him already
for civil rights violations, etc. Joe's in trouble. I can't wait until his reign of terror is over. Anyone who disagrees with him gets investigated.
