We have a Guardian Angels group in our town who "help out the police", mostly on weekends. Well, on April 25, things boiled over when James Steel, the leader of the local chapter was charged with beating a guy and breaking his arms. The guy was apparently hitting Steel's ex girlfriend (which can't and shouldn't be condoned) and Steel and three other GA's jumped in and beat the guy to a bloody pulp. It seems that Steel has a fairly lengthy criminal record, a lot of it for violence. Two big questions, If these guys are such bad asses, why did it take four of them to beat one guy, and why was the guy's arm "accidentally" broken three times? Ok, one more question; why did they not call the police like they are supposed to? Steel's ex, no police around, the GA's just happen to see her getting hit. The police did not charge the victim. Hmmm... A little too coincidental to me. Also, Curtis Sliwa, the leader of the national Guardian Angels has come out in support of Steel and the others. I want them out of my city. www.qctimes.com. Just look at "most popular" to see the story.
