Bear in mind that Fox News practically CREATED the Tea Party and that earlier they were GLEEFUL about his primary win.

For the moment, the conservative rebel yell is having its greatest impact in the Republican primaries. What remains to be seen is how much of a factor it will play in the November elections -- and whether Tea Party-backed Republicans have the base to mow over their Democratic opponents
Ha! I wonder if they regret that dog whistle "conservative rebel yell"? Make no mistake - that is EXACTLY what that comment meant.
But, in this newer story, granted, an AP story, but still prominent on FoxNews.com, he is a "political novice" and he had support from the "so-called Tea Party movement" and (gasp!) Sarah Palin. Interesting too is the fact that now he is "an eye doctor who had never run for office before" who shares the views of his father Ron Paul.
So, FoxNews is seeing the handwriting on the wall and is throwing away the "so-called" Tea Party AND Sarah Palin and for extra measure Ron Paul. At least, that's my take on it.
AS a side note, I listened to Sean Hannity today on the radio for awhile and I didn't hear a peep about Rand Paul or the Tea Party. It's possible that I missed it, but he also discussed his line-up tonight and he still never mentioned Rand Paul. Seems like he would have bellied up to the bar quickly in defense mode if that was part of the Republicon playbook. He was still defending Arizona.
I think the Republicans are in full disaster mode. Anyone hear any updates of what Sarah Palin thinks about his (Rand's) stance on the Civil Rights Act?
