They've been doing that here for a couple years. Don't know if it's reduced juvenile crime but the threat has woken up a few families I know who needed to reign in their kids.

Having said that, I don't see how this is possibly racist since the thugs in this state come not only from Mexico, but from Russia, Cuba and southeast Asia, as well.

If he can send the little shits to their countries of origin, fine.

What I see is that he is reinstating a policy that was suspended in 2006 in response to a person being released from the juvenile justice system and re-offending. He is doing what states are supposed to do, which is report immigration status and allow the federal authorities to decide how to proceed. He is not saying that New Mexico is going to take the initiative to seek out foreign nationals strictly for the purpose of deporting them.

That is like asking if a Black restaurant owner is racist because they kick out a Black patron who is throwing flatware and dishes at the other patrons.

He may in fact be racist, but this decision is certainly not evidence to that claim.
