Poll question: The electoral effect of Rand Paul's anti-civil rights ideology will be?
What do folks think--will the good people of Kentucky view him as an out of touch extremist, or will they actually appreciate his standing up for their right to engage in racial discrimination?

This one should be measurable . . .

1. No change.
It's too early in the race and frankly, what he said wasn't strong enough to get many other people than the ones who weren't going to vote for him anyway riled up. He'll probably make up whatever he loses by getting a few more racists out to vote.

3. Increase slightly, at least...
Remember, this is Kentucky we're talking about. A state that re-elected Bunning time and again, even after he fell asleep in Congress, refused to debate unless he could read his answers off a teleprompter, and put out a last-week-of-campaign TV spot charging his opponent looked just like one of Saddam Hussein's children. Kentuckians love them some right-wing crazy. I'll bet right now that Paul is getting a lot of credit for "speaking his mind" and "not being cowed by 'political correctness'."
