Wesley Clark endorses Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas
Edited on Mon May-17-10 09:35 AM by AndyA
Says she's a moderate Democrat in a state that is leaning more conservative now.

Wrong, Wesley. Lincoln is a Democrat In Name Only (DINO) who has a long voting record of voting against what's best for the people of Arkansas and voting against the Democrats in Congress.

She was against the stimulus.

She was against health care reform.

She is owned by corporate interests.

She's against pretty much everything the Democratic Party has identified as important. And the fact that her primary opponent, Halter, is doing so well says a lot about the direction Arkansas is leaning. I know quite a few people in Arkansas, and they are fed up with the bigoted, hypocritical, back woods, hillbilly politics forced on them by the likes of Blanche Lincoln.

I knew there was a reason I didn't like Wesley Clark, and this certainly reinforces that belief.

Bill Clinton Throws His Support To Blanche Lincoln

In a boost to embattled Dem Senator Blanche Lincoln — and a bit of a blow to primary challenger Bill Halter — fellow Arkansan Bill Clinton is throwing his support to the incumbent Senator, his spokesman confirms to me.

Halter’s entry into the race had kicked off a round of speculation about who Clinton would endorse, given that he hails from the state and remains very popular with Dem primary voters. If Clinton had remained neutral it would have been a big boost to Halter.

Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna tells me, however, that the former President is supporting Lincoln.

but unlikely to be loved by DU. I also know alot of Arkansas progressives who dislike Halter nor do they want to give up a senator who is in charge of agriculture for a newbie in charge of nothing.

10. New Senators are at the bottom of the barrel in committee assignments
And no new Senator is given a chairmanship of an important committee. Chairmanships are exclusively reserved for very long serving Senators.

12. What's the point of having a Senator in charge of something when they only answer to

their corporate masters? I'll take my chances on a progressive like Grayson from Florida, who isn't afraid to stand up for his constituents. (I realize Grayson is in the other house, but I think he is a good example of a new Congress person who speaks up and doesn't abide by the old rules of Congess.)

When you check a list of Lincoln's corporate donors, then check her voting record, you can tell who calls the shots, and who reaps the harvest of her Senate seat.

(And it isn't the good people of Arkansas.)
