Al Qaeda leader vows bloody days ahead
Suicide bombings in Iraq kill 10 and injure 120

BAGHDAD — Al Qaeda in Iraq’s new leader warned Shi’ites yesterday that “dark days soaked with blood’’ lie ahead and that a new campaign of attacks was underway.

Later yesterday, three suicide bombers blew themselves up at a sports field in a predominantly Shi’ite town in northern Iraq, killing at least 10 people and wounding 120 others, police and hospital officials said.

Days before the warning, Iraq was racked by the worst attack this year, a series of coordinated bombings and assassinations that killed 119 people — most of them Shi’ites and members of the security forces — across 10 cities.

The Iraqi insurgent umbrella group, the Islamic State of Iraq, named al-Nasser Lideen Allah Abu Suleiman as its new minister of war, replacing the Egyptian Abu Ayyub al-Masri, killed in a US-Iraqi military strike on a safe house in April. The ISI counts Al Qaeda as one of its member groups.

1. Soaked with blood or soaked with oil, people are getting soaked.
Really, this ass is going to have to stand in line with the rest of the soakers.

2. Al Queda in Iraq isn't the same as bin Laden's group.
It's a franchised name since the US used it so much. All the mujahideen groups want to use it. I doubt the ISI is going away anytime soon. How long has it been since we claimed victory in Iraq anyway?
