I think we should unite with the Tea Baggers on one important issue.
That is, that we should try to clean up the Senate a little bit. A lot of the old timers that are tied to special interests should be sent home. I'm talking about people like Arlen Specter, Blanche Lincoln, and a couple of other Democrats. The Tea Baggers have already sent home Senator Bennett from Utah. John McCain is on their list also. The Senate should be better without them. All of them. Is this something we could agree upon? Not expected here on DU but the majority of America probably agrees?

2. Bunning is retiring.
Rand Paul doesn't have to beat him. There is another right-winger running that is just as bad or worse. Take your choice. There is a Democrat in the race, the KY Atty-General.

6. What I meant was, the teabaggers would have zero interest in electing progressive candidates
To replace existing ones. They are vile, ignorant, racist throwbacks.

7. Life is a gamble.
Sometimes you have to get rid of the snakes in your house, even if there is a chance they will be replaced by even bigger snakes.

4. One small problem.
The candidates supported by the Teabaggers are even more corrupt than the incumbents they seek to replace. Not to mention more insane as well.

11. And less likely to win the general election.
If one or two luck up and win, they will still be in the minority.

15. I agree with, baldguy.
Teabaggers don't support better candidates, they just don't. In most cases we would be as well off with the incumbent.

8. They're replacing Bennett and McCain with the likes of JD Hayworth.... no thanks

As bad as McCain is, you could never argue that the Senate would be better with Hayworth.

9. Is that "our" problem or their problem?
I doubt they will take the majority in the Senate. It could only highlight their insanity, in the next Senate.

12. It is a shame we can't put a referendum
on the ballot like they do in California. And have term limits. The senate is what is screwing up everything. The House gets it's job done, sends the bills to the senate and the screw it to hell and back. Too many special interests raking in the money. If they had term limits they wouldn't listen to lobbyist because they wouldn't need the money to get re-elected.

14. why does it take uniting with the bigot pig teabaggers to support getting
rid of Lincoln and Specter? It does not. Do you have any idea who the teabaggers want to replace the wingnuts they're knocking out?

I don't see that supporting progressive candidates in primaries requires ANY kind of uniting with bigoted fuckwads.

16. It's futile to do any appeasement to the teabaggers
because they are too dumb to recognize any common ground they may already have with liberals.

21.  Oh, I think there's still thinking going on here.
Someone who disagrees with you, is not, merely by dint of said disagreement, not thinking. And that seems to be what you're saying. As for the op, despite his op title, I don't think kentuck is actually suggesting that we unite with the teabaggers, but that we tear a page out of their book re getting rid of of Senators who don't represent our interests.

22. Hey Kentuck why not concentrate on replacing Jim Bunning and Mitch McConnell with some progressives?
That would be a helluva good start and I would agree with that.

See if the teabaggers like that idea.
