Free Republic is going all out to stop Giuliani from the getting the nomination
I knew that Jim Robinson was busy purging Freepers who support the drag queen, but now he's even posted an anti-Rudy section called the "Giuliani Truth File", with many of the anti-Rudy threads being started by himself and in angry caps:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/keyword?k=GiulianiTruthFile

...BTW, if you think that this means FR won't rally behind Giuliani if he gets the nomination, here's what ol' JimRob had to say about Bush back in 1999:

To: Jim Robinson

will there be a truth file for every candidate, or just Rudy Giuliani?

The others are conservatives as far as I know.

Now, imagine Skinner deciding to set up a "Hillary Truth File" or an "Obama Truth File". I'm sure that purging many of your loyal posters and donors is just peachy for FR, but sites like DU think in rational terms. Oh, and if Rudy is getting his own "truth file", then what will "Multiple Choice Mitt" Romney get? What about McCain?

9. I don't know that that is overly fair
I don't want Hillary to win because I think she is far too moderate for my tastes. But if she gets the nomination, I'll hit the streets for her campaign and do whatever I can to get her elected over whatever asshole Republican is on the ballot.

19. Hell yes it's fair. Look at what their candidates stand for. They are NOT
the party of patriotism and all that American stands for, not like they like to portray themselves. And they lie, lie, lie.

21. It's perfectly fair in Jim Robinson's case
If you saw the way he spewed invective at freepers at large for even considering a Bush presidency. If Bush got the nomination, he swore to go for his guns, declare war and chase the scum out of Washington.

20. You didn't expect him to?
He's not anti-gay. He doesn't support ex post facto prosecutions of abortion doctors. And he does drag--badly. There is no way in hell the freepers are gonna support Rudy.

I didn't mention the marital misconduct because it's almost expected of a Republican. Look, kids, for all the "family values!" and "we hate the French!" shit that comes from over there, their leaders act FAR too much like Francois Mitterand.

The major problem I see here is that Rudy is possibly electable, once you get past his affairs, his Democratic-looking social stances, questions about 9/11, his hiring practices, his personality, Bernie Kerik, his Mafiosa father, and all the police brutality cases that happened on his watch. (Not to mention the fact he's a Repuke, and after the 2008 election the RNC may be petitioning local jurisdictions to return to elected dogcatchers so Republicans can win SOME kind of office.) What'll be entertaining is the Repukes running attack-Rudy ads during the primaries, and the Democrats running them in the general.

22. ROFLMAO...this is from the 1999 article:
<snip>

"...Free Republic has always been a home for pugilistic far-right zealots, and its recent traffic decline is probably due to the passing of impeachment as an issue, not just dissent over the crusade against Bush. But disaffected Freep stalwarts say that in recent months Robinson "let all the Y2K, gun-nut, Jew-baiting crazies take over and flame the plain-old conservatives," in the words of Goldberg.

"Well, this is a fine kettle of fish!" wrote one Freep regular in May, echoing the angst of a score of regulars. "I leave for a few weeks to remodel my kitchen, and when I come back everything is falling apart!"

"This site has become loaded with crazies and that's a damn shame," wrote another in an abject letter of resignation, one of a steady stream of Freepers to head for the exits in May, when impeachment was long gone as an issue and an army of conspiracy-minded extremists seemed to float to the top of the message boards.

The top extremist, in the estimate of the disenchanted, is its founder, Robinson, a wheelchair-bound Navy veteran of the Vietnam War who operates the site with his son and an unpaid helper from his home in Fresno, Calif. ..."

<snip>

:rofl:...Looks to me like nothing has changed over there, it was always "loaded with crazies"...:rofl:

Or perhaps Howard Stern.

Robbie Williams?

Or maybe even The Killers.

Jeebus is this going to be a long election cycle.
