Another tornado in Kansas last night!
Authorities confirm a tornado touched down tonight in Bennington.
They say it happened near the Bennington State Lake, two to six miles north of Bennington. One person has died. Our reporter on scene told us a woman died on her way to the hospital after her trailer was destroyed. She and another man were found in the debris. The man suffers two broken legs and two others were injured.

Officials say they do have several other injuries in the area as well as severe storm damage. A shelter has been opened at Bennington Bible Church on 806 N. Nelson St. You can call the shelter at (785) 488-3783 if needed. We have a crew enroute to Bennington.

Our crew in the field confirms flash flooding in Bennington, KS. Officials say at least four homes were destroyed.Chief Meterologist Jeremy Goodwin says dangerous flash flooding is affecting Minneapolis and Ottawa among others.

1. it's going to be a long couple of days, won't it?
Looks like these storm systems are going to be with us for a while. The conditions look right for small swarms of tornadoes throughout central Kansas until late tomorrow and wow, that's the last thing they need.

There should be some kind of state law that mobile homes have to have storm cellars dug. It just seems crazy to not have a safe place to go.

8. I would no more live in a mobile home here
than I would live in a house with a wood roof on the slopes of a volcano.

4. Globally warmed. Globally warmed world or climate challenged world
would be a more politically correct way of putting it.

Another fine mess the liberals let us get ourselves into.
:sarcasm:

3. It was a wild night here in Nebraska too. Terrible electrical storm,
we lost our power for 7 hours and I didn't sleep a wink.

9. I am 200 miles from where last night's tornado hit
and 300 miles from Greensburg. But our weather here is nasty. So much rain there is standing water in my front yard.

Thanks for the good thoughts! :hi:

12. It has been.
Long time since we've talked.

My backyard is already a mess. I'd hate to see how bad it will be by the end of the week.

11. There were tons of tornados last night.
It was really bad. Nothing here but flooding. I am pretty much stuck at the farm, the roads are impassable. My pond is way over the bank and the run off from the pastures is running down to the creek so big and fast that it looks like a river in Colorado. More rain and bad weather coming, at least 4 more days of this rain. Barn is flooded too. Wish I had a boat!
