Inmate Labor: Working to help protect marshes from BP oil spill - pics

Inmates from a La Fourche parish jail on a work release program fill giant sandbags in Port Fourchon, Louisiana May 11, 2010. U.S. Army National Guard troops were dropping the sandbags using helicopters (background) on nearby breaks in beaches to protect marshes from the BP oil spill offshore.

4. Common sight here in the South.
Crews of inmates pick up litter from the highways.

Jail trustees are allowed to do community work around the city and county.
they prefer the chance to do this rather than sit in over heated jail cells.

The country needs more slave-wage laborers! :sarcasm:

In case you didn't catch it the first time: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Seriously, I am glad for any and all help the Gulf can get prepping for this catastrophe.
Too bad there aren't some oil execs, oil lobbyists and Senate Republicans out there along with the common folk.
Oh yeah, and where's the Cheney (aka Mr. Halliburton) Family??

9. I wonder how many of them are in prison
for smoking some ganja. Meanwhile the criminals like W, the Dick, and Rove, criminals from BP and criminals from Wall Street walk free.
