Obama derangement syndrome has hit the left and it's starting to bother me.

The left is in an uproar over Elena Kagan's nomination. Nevermind the fact that most people know nothing about her other then she is a democrat and she has never rendered a court decision in her life.

So what does the left do? We take a few things she has said and wrote over the course of the last 30 years that we may not like and a couple of associations over 30 years we may not like at first glance and render a conclusive decision about her. Do we let her tell us about herself so we might get a sense of her? No. Do we let her answer some questions that we may have about some things that on the surface may seem troubling to progressive's? No.

What do we do? We render a conclusive judgment on her and then go ape shit on the blogosphere. And why are we so quick to rush to judgment on her, well according to Cenk Uygur it's because Obama picked her. Wow!

That being said, it's safe to say the Left is pretty divided on this.

However, the post criticizing Cenk has far more rec's than Cenk's and it's points are more thought through. Cenk's only issue with Kagan is that Obama nominated her.

and his nominations from the left are akin to the way the right is Teabagging its way to ineffectiveness.

A day doesn't go by when the "liberalness" of long time posters on this board isn't questioned, but it's questioned every minute of those who continue to support President Obama. The only people likely to be riled by Cenk's comment are those who think any categorization of the President that doesn't involve walking on water and spontaneous biological bliss ponk is a form of blasphemy. The President does play it safe and doesn't like to expend political capital. That's a simple fact of the man's nature. He proves it all the time. Most notably on items like DADT.

I like President Obama's judicial nominations in general. But the way you guys are attempting to Hamsher half the blogosphere . . .

It's probably a good thing I don't form my political opinions out of pure spite. If that were the case, I'd be throwing down against Kagan with the best of them.

The mass execution of messengers around here has a sulfurous way about it that leaves me wanting to oppose the hell out of whatever our resident firing squad is supporting.
