The first concerns the elections in Britain today. The number of seats in Parliament is roughly equal to our Congress and all of them are involved in the election; I believe the number of seats given was near 500. The person being interviewed about the election noted that in the last election Exit Polls were used with great success. I believe he said that exit polls had correctly predicted all but 2 out of the 500 or so contests. One wonders how exit polls work so well there, but here seem to come up with results nearly exactly opposite of the final official count.
The second comment was more ominous and was followed by a call and comments from what had to be the stupidest woman on the face of the earth. The CIA has been given expanded permission to target its predator drones against unknown targets. It seems in the past they had to at least know who they were shooting at, but now they may target unknown person based on ... well, we don't know what it will be based on., they didn't say, but at least its not necessary to know who we are killing. It should also be mentioned that this was in relation to Pakistan - a country we are not at war with. Oh, the woman who called in several minutes later said she though the problem was we put too many restrictions on the CIA and other Agencies, that we should "take the gloves off". One wonders what her reaction would be if her children were blown up on their way to school by a war-plane from another country that flew over her home on a daily basis just looking for people to kill.
