AUDIO: Richard Clarke Bashes Cheney - "Most Pandering, Partisan, Despicable Kind of Activity"
Interesting interview broadcast today with Richard Clarke. He went off on Dick Cheney for his comments that Obama is not keeping the US safe and "baiting" for a terrorist attack to be later blamed on Obama. A couple of quotes:

"What Dick Cheney is doing is the political equivalent of a hedge fund. He is buying a bet that there will be a terrorist attack in the US, and if there is one, he wants it to benefit him and his party politically."

"It's the most pandering, partisan, despicable kind of activity that any politician could engage in."

He also said that Cheney has "an evil genius kind of imagination"

2. What's amazing...
......is that Clarke was one of the brightest guys in the administration, and from the interview he's basically saying he was forced out

3. Cheney is the quintessential evil villian.
He'll be the stereotypical villian model for future hero sagas, bet on it.

7. I don't buy it.
Clark has plenty of dirt on Cheney, and he hasn't spilled a drop.

This is theatre for the masses.

10. You're kidding me, right?
>Clark has plenty of dirt on Cheney, and he hasn't spilled a drop.<

Did you read "Against All Enemies"? I recommend it.

Clarke laid out in print form every issue with Cheney. He has criticized Cheney (complete with factual evidence) over and over and over, not just in front of Congressional committees on live TV, but on the Sunday morning chat shows. He hasn't been quiet about Cheney by any stretch of the imagination.

There are few people in life I call heroes. Richard Clarke is one of them. I will never forget the fact that he is the only person from the Bush administration to offer a sincere apology to the families of September 11th victims and the rest of us for what happened that morning.

You bet he was forced out.

11. Agreed
100% right that he was forced out, and he even kinda implies it in the interview, doesn't he?
