What is your current thinking on bank loans?

I'm wondering what DU'ers think of taking on new banking debt now and in the foreseeable future. Where are you on the spectrum? (barring some desperate emergency and petty loans between friends and family)

1. We have been credit union members for almost 19 years, and have had NO

commercial bank accounts for a little over a year. We have some debt on our mortgage-with a non-bank mortgage company-that will be paid off this year, ans some loans for debt I incurred when I went back to college in my 40's - still being paid, but I will soon take advantage of the new laws to lower my payments seriously. We have a few hundred dollars in credit card debt, mostly for medical bills for us and our dog who has cancer.

If I were to borrow from anyone it would be our credit union - I may buy another used car late this year.

4. Only loans I have are a mortgage, student loans (not private), and car payments.

So I guess I do have loans at a bank.

could clean house, (like the PTB would allow that without force) it would start by dissolving the so-called Fed and flushing the crap out of the banking system we have now. That's job one, as if it would ever happen.
