that removed corporate political ad spending limits.
When corporations grow to the size that they are capable of influencing government policymaking, they should be broke up under anti-trust authority.
Why?
Because corporations with that kind of financial strength can buy influence in Washington, DC. When corporations have the power to heavily influence policymaking, they can steer policymaking. They write the laws that deregulate and tie the hands of government oversight.
Enabling powerful corporations to crush competition.
Enabling them to be free of regulation and oversight.
Enabling Massey to skirt OSHA safety regs that led to the explosion that killed 29 miners.
Enabling banksters to plunder our nations wealth and gamble with the world's economic stabilty. Banking giants can bring down the global economy. Should banks or any corporation have the power to bring down the global economy?
Enabling Monsanto and other mega-corp agri-business- ADM, General Mills, Smithfield Farms, Tyson to write food industry laws that allow them to own our food supply. And poison it with the unhealthy corporate food that we are being force-fed.
Enabling the military/industrial complex to write legislation that continues to plunder the wealth of our nation. That continues to kill and maim our brave soldiers.
Enabling corporate America to violate the rights of all workers- globally.
Add to that, the recent horrid USSC decision. Corporations have become nearly unstoppable. They have long outgrown the power of government.
Corporations have become our government.
When corporations have that kind of influence over our government, when they have the power to write legislation and influence it's passage into law, and when they have the power to de-regulate and skirt existing regulations..
Said corporations have grown too big and powerful and need to be broke up into smaller entities under America's existing anti-trust authority.
Can the need for trust-busting be any greater or clearer?
In an ideal world, America would pass a constitutional amendment to overturn the recent horrid USSC decision, but good luck with getting that one passed.
Until then our only solution may be trust-busting authority.
Wanted: A Federal Government with the spine to do the right thing. Use trust-busting authority before it's too late.
It's do or die time, America.
