Robert H. Henry announced today that he is stepping down as chief judge of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, effective midnight Friday.
Judge Mary Beck Briscoe, who is based in Kansas, will be the new chief judge, according to a news release. Briscoe has served on the 10th Circuit since 1995.
"Judge Henry has provided strong leadership to our circuit, and we all regret that he is leaving," Briscoe said in the release. "My goal is simply to build on the good work done by Judge Henry and his predecessors."
Henry will continue as a federal judge until June 30. In July, he will begin work as the 17th president and chief executive officer of Oklahoma City University.
