KC police to hold driver license checkpoint

The Kansas City Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit will have a driver license checkpoint next week.

Police said the checkpoint will be held May 6. They didn’t release a time or location for the checkpoint, except to say it will be held at where there are occurrences of people driving while their licenses have been revoked or suspended and where there are drunken driving-related crashes or arrests.

It's an epidemic...

1. They do this all the time
here in Southern California. They say it's for those with suspended licenses and drunk drivers; however the majority of reports you hear about explain after the fact that they arrested the most for DWM (driving while mexican). Sad...

People with suspended licenses usually end up that way for a reason.

5. Gosh and all this time MADD was a racist organization!
Who knew drunk driving laws were really targeted at brown people. It's such a scam.

We need to rally to get rid of drunk driving checkpoints now!

6. Went through one last week here in So Cal..checking drivers' licenses and
seat belts. Couldn't figure out why they didn't check insurance too. Not unusual to have check points
for drinking drivers either. Have no problem with it as long as there's no profiling. We have our share of
crazy drivers here, too.....z
