So, the FOX meme is that AZ law is The Same as FEDERAL Law?

My dad is a Faux watcher and asked me what I thought about the boycott of AZ by SF employees, etc.
I told him I thought it was great because the law is draconian.

He said "It isn't any different than Federal Law," that it's just being "enforced" by AZ cuz the Feds haven't.

Are you kidding me? So people are going to buy that the AZ law is "really" the SAME as Federal Law ....?

Please SHOW me where Federal Law states That you need to have papers on you at all times, etc...?

1. well the pima county sherriff was just on ko and said that the law is

similar in many ways, but there are differences like the reasonable suspicion stuff. he said that he has been in law enforcement for 50 years and he has always been able to ask about status and does so regularly. moreso than the rest of the state. and why would he want to take illegal immigrants and put them in the county jail and put them into the state system at cost to taxpayers when they have always turned them over to the border patrol. he also said the law has a provision that allows any citizen to sue any officer they feel is not enforcing the law. and they can be sued if they do pull people over and ask for their papers. so he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
