Poll: Overnight AZ Latinos have gone from most pro-GOP in Nation to among most anti
In Arizona, Obama won 56 percent of Latinos, with McCain getting 41 percent. Of course, McCain was a native son, so perhaps that boosted his numbers? Nope. In the 2006 Senate race, wingnut Sen. Jon Kyl got the same41 percent of the Latino vote.

Now look at PPP's latest polling of the 2010 Arizona governor's race:

There has been a great deal of movement along racial lines. In the September poll Goddard had a 3 point lead with white voters, but he now trails Brewer by 8. At the same time he's increased his lead with Hispanic voters from 20 points to 46. There are a lot more white voters in the state than Hispanic ones so from a cynical, purely political perspective Brewer's actions last week probably did her some good.

A 20-point lead among brown voters is essentially the same 60-40 Democratic advantage of old. A 46-point lead among Latinos is essentially what California Democrats enjoy.

In other words, Arizona Latinos have gone, literally overnight, from being perhaps the most pro-GOP in the nation, to joining California as the most anti-GOP ones in the nation. This, in a state in which whites are soon to be a minority:

1. The GOP on the wrong side of history again. While there are more white voters than latino that will
not always be the case.

The GOP's racist stance is what will eventually do them in. The bottom line is, the America that most Republicans yearn to go back to no longer exists. That they were the ones that largely killed it doesn't register with them, but I digress.

America is becoming less white all the time. The internet has usurped the power of the corporate media to maintain its stranglehold on our minds. OUR job, in the meantime, will be to stand with as many immigrants as we can, let them know that liberals are with them and will fight for them. We do that, and the Republicans have NO future. Take it to the bank.

7. It may not be financially possible
for many Mexican and Latinos in AZ to go on strike but, a major strike - shut it all down - might make those racists bastards wake up. Meh, nah they won't.

13. Good
A conservative mind, especially one that tends to be family oriented, and/or religious often will vote against it's own interest because of the ritualistic and dogmatic lies put forth by republicans. (No matter what the skin color)

I'm very sad however, that it took blatant racism for the Latinos of Arizona to see the light.

It's California Proposition 187 redux.

It put California's Hispanic voters firmly in the Democratic column and has made Republicans largely unelectable for statewide office in the foreseeable future.

The Arizona law is going to burn Pukes in the long run -- but they can't help themselves because they are inherently racist.

18. Not all white voters support the new law.
It is my feeling that the same type of prejudice that people have for Latinos is shown against white people especially white males and the perps can justify it every which way from Sunday.

19. Bush got the help of 40% of the Latino vote in 2004
Republicans just did a lot of (long term) damage to themselves with all their bigotry. The hostility from the conservative talk show hosts, the opposition to Sotomayor nomination, and their huge third strike with this new law in Arizona are going to be hard to fix. The Latino block is a growing block so the Republicans are going to feel the backlash in the years to come. What a bunch of fools!

24. They were against her for a while because she favored a last ditch
sales tax increase, therefore she was too lib'rl for them. Now they've swung BACK to her, seeing as how she's shown her true radical right stripes. They would never have voted for Goddard.
