I'm going to the Grand Canyon this summer.
As a precaution, I'm having the American flag tattooed on my ass.

1. I'm glad I went last year.
My son had wanted to see it for many years and was able to. Now I don't have to make a decision whether to go or not.

7. True, but it should be enough to overcome the reasonable suspicion standard.

11. Good luck!
Seriously, there should be some local advocacy groups forming over this. Get their phone numbers and keep them handy.

Have fun! The kids will remember it for a lifetime.

14. I'm Going To Niagra Falls...
One day I hope to see the Skywalk, but not while there's a fascist government in control. We'll head toward the other border...spend our vacation money in Michigan, Ohio and New York...all solid blue states. I'll try to solve the Canadian illegal immigrant problem.

21. Yes and no.

This article from the AZ Sun sites SB1070, but a quick scan of the SB 1070

http://www.azdailysun.com/news/local/state-and-regional/c5640fb6-7b1f-5286-be2b-0e38d72b1c9e.html

Immigration Documents

These are the documents that would allow a police officer to presume someone is in this country legally:

-- a valid Arizona driver license

-- a valid nonoperating identification card

-- a valid tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification

-- any other federal, state or local government issued identification -- but only if obtaining it requires the holder to first prove legal presence in the United States

-- Source: SB 1070

But I can't find it in the bill: http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf

19. Spring and fall is the best time to visit the Canyon
You need to go after all the snow and ice melts from the trails but before it gets too hot.

I hiked it in late March and it felt like it was 90 degrees in Devil's Corkscrew.

Bring more water than you think you need and invest in a good pair of boots.

Of course the above doesn't apply if you're one of those freaks that goes all the way to the Grand Canyon and just gawks at it from the Rim.

HAVE FUN!
