Sarasota HeraldTribune Article: Crist decision could fracture GOP grip on Florida
Very good article and explains clearly in detail why the GOP is freaking out about the potential impact of Senator Crist (I)...

http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20100425/ARTICLE/4251072/-1/newssitemap

I think Crist is going to win and also think he is going to caucus with the Dems. I also think he is going to endorse Alex Sink, the Democrat running for Governor. This also could have a big impact on the teabaggers.. it will make many in the GOP begin to question even more the benefits of movement. This could be a game changer.

5. Yeah, the only wildcard in that fight would be Meeks
with a split vote...

My sense of Florida politics tells me Crist would win with his track record of statewide wins.

If the Repug scandal really blows up look for Rubio to drop to about 20-25 in a 3 way race... Instead, it looks like a slice and dice with Rubio on Crist...

4. And The Corporate Media Chirps About Democrats Being In Trouble...
THe latest meme is the Halter/Lincoln primary is the same as what's going on in Florida or Arizona. Wrong. Halter is no extremist...and comparing the rhetoric coming out of Rubio and Hayworth is outright regressive and crazy...Halter is progressive and a realist. More false equivelency from a coward corporate media.

As I had predicted almost a year ago when the teabaggers first started tauting Rubio they're going to blow their party apart should they be successful in outsting Crist. Well, well, well...

These bruising primaries and the rise of teabagger candidates will put the moderates in a very difficult position...and I suspect that many will either look for a third way or no way at all. And be assured that if the teabaggers lose in the primaries, these children will throw mighty tantrums and "punish" the GOOP by staying home or voting "Libertarian".

The further the GOOP goes to the right, the more they alienate a large portion of their base who aren't ready to live in a theocracy or kleptocracy again.

The teabaggers may be just the medicine we needed.

7. Any Gains They Make This Year Will Hurt Them In 2012
I'm with you...I hope there are teabaggers running in every state. Their extremism will be the undoing of the GOOP who will find it very difficult to capture the true Independents and centrists.

Also, as we're seeing in New Jersey and Virginia...voters are starting to have buyers remorse for electing rushpublicans. Even more teabaggers will create even more distractions and expose the racist and regressive agenda they stand for. People may not be wild about President Obama like they were after his elections, but they sure remember boooosh and his corrupt regime and polls continue to show the GOOP brand is very unpopular. Try as they might, the corporate media can't put lipstick on this pig.

Cheers...

8. The first Republican who stands up to the teabaggers
will win back his parties endorsement and gain a huge national stage. If Crist is the one with balls enough to do this and understands the future of our nation is dependent on cooperation we will all be better for it.
Crist may have to run as an independent as the Florida Republican party appears to be taken over by the teabaggers as have many other state committees.
