Okla. governor vetoes 2 abortion bills

Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry vetoed two abortion bills Friday that he said are an unconstitutional attempt by the Legislature to insert government into the private lives and decisions of citizens.

One measure would have required women to undergo an intrusive ultrasound and listen to a detailed description of the fetus before getting abortions. Henry said that legislation is flawed because it does not allow rape and incest victims to be exempted.

3. Thank you Governor Henry
I hope he runs for the senate when his term is up as he would make us oklahomans proud on the national stage. He's a good solid honest man with the betterment of all at heart.

I must send him a thank you note.

8. Around here we love him
My hope is he takes Inhofe or Coburns seat. He's a good man. The funny thing is he wasn't given much of a chance of beating Steve Largent :puke: by the press but we worked hard and he won handedly.

10. Yeah, I remember ...

I worked pretty hard for Henry and was thrilled we he won, and he's remained fairly popular throughout.

I think the Repubs are just playing games with this nonsense. They knew damn well Henry wouldn't sign it. They're going to attempt to use it as a campaign issue in those areas where this craziness is popular.

As for Largent, never liked him as a football player either.
