U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva ( Ariz) closes office over death threats.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva says he's closing his Arizona offices at noon Friday after receiving multiple threats over a state immigration measure.

Grijalva says he's opposed to the bill that would make it a crime under state law to be in the county illegally.

He's urging any organizations opposed to the immigration measure that are thinking about holding events in Arizona to seek venues in other states.

2. Pretty sure Raul's family has been in Arizona a LOT longer than most of the RW bigots and fools
By all means, boycott AZ. Remember, it was one of the last states to accept the MLK holiday, and that was finally done after a boycott that cost tourism industry a bundle.

5. Raúl's father came to the US from Mexico in the 1940s
What difference does it make how long someone has been somewhere?

I've got ancestors who came to the US legally through Ellis Island, and others who sneaked in through Canada. And a few who have been here since before the Vikings landed. What does that make me, other than the mongrel I've always admitted to being?

Some of the worst bigots I know here in Arizona are winter visitors from places like Chicago and Cincinnati. And some of the most liberal are military retirees from Idaho and Kansas. So go figure.

and I have met very few liberal retirees. Most of them are warmongers that thought that both of the Bushes were great presidents.

4. What good is protesting the law in other states where the law is not enacted?
I'm looking forward to protesting here in the state where it matters. Arizona won't care about protests in other states.

Sheriff Joe also has to go. I hope this will finally get his ass out of office. I can't believe this guy keeps getting reelected.
