6. Rec. Of course I am. I think the congressional Dems are FINALLY
getting the idea we want them to be DIFFERENT from the GOPers, and I believe voting for even a lousy Democrat is better than voting for ANY republican.

The Tea Party movement is a Republican funded front for racists to get their freak on, IMO.

15. Damn Straight.
I've been saying we need to do a "march" and show the baggers we support the people we elect. I think maybe if our elected officials see we've got their back, they'll have ours (I know oxymoron, but you get the idea). We should carry signs with easy to read (for the baggers & fux noise) graphs and such. We'll use our facts, against their lies.

We should have a big march in DC, with coinciding smaller marches all around the country for those who can't get to DC. If the baggers can do it, we can too. The difference is we'll be grassroots and not astroturf. Maybe if we emailed Rachel M. or Ed S. they'd do a report on it.

There are still a lot of people that support not just the President, but their Senators and Congressmen/women.

Also, we could have signs with a "to do list" so they don't forget the promises made.

Let's face it, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and a host of others put their asses on the line for that health care bill-I know it's not perfect but it's a start, more than anything that's been done.

And most importantly-GET OUT THE VOTE-in November. I took my son and all his friends that have turned 18 since the last election and had them register to vote.

18. Don't carry 'em
The tea party people are failing fast as people are becoming more and more aware of how crazy and idiotic they are. Why are we carrying an astroturf movement by suggesting somehow that it is th Democrats versus the Tea Party as though they are somehow meaningful or important.

Let them wither and die and then, when few support them any longer, hang them around the necks of the Republicans in November with every damned speech they gave in support of them.

19. I think we should not give up on converting a reasonable chunk of the Tea Party.
I know it's in many cases, as easy as talking to a brick wall.

But I still think that many elements of the traditionally populist Democratic message would hit home with some Tea Partiers if they understood them in laymen's terms. I know it's not easy, but showing yourself to be a knowledgeable, trustworthy source of information, and finding common ground with some Tea Partiers in their frustrations with Wall Street is the best thing to do overall.

I like that approach much more than "standing against" them. As much as I stand against them ideologically, I think we lose by not trying to reach out to them.

The corporate class can handle bipartisanship with ease. Populist bipartisanship is the only antidote. I think some Democrats want us to avoid populist bipartisanship precisely because they know it's the best defense against the one party, corporate system.

And stop believing the mdeia hype that these people are anything but an astroturf organization intensely salted with republican staff and republican party activists.

36. Why is it funny to advocate populist bipartisanship, but not when Obama reaches out to the right?
If you said, "because it's sad", I'd agree with you.

I think the corporate Dems and Repubs worst nightmare is for we common people to find OUR common ground, and stand together against them.

I think that's why we saw that orchestrated smear campaign against Jane Hamsher--not just for her poor choice of collaborating partner, but because she hit on the magic antidote to fighting the bipartisan, corporate elites.

27. Oppose Fox News & You Oppose The Tea Party - Fox News Fan Club
Seriously, is there any daylight between the Tea Party and Fox News?

Look at financial reform. If the anti-Wall Street Tea Partiers were actually real activists, they would be all over Republicans for preventing the debate on financial reform. Instead, they are silent.

the DLC, the "centrists," the corporatists, the "3rd way," and the "new" dems. Anyone to the left of them who appears on my ballot will get my vote. Some of those to the left of them who are running will get my $$ and time.
