9.  Oh please, what BS. SS assisted with the push back.
Edited on Wed Apr-21-10 01:39 PM by saracat
That was the lamest excuse I have heard. This was via the video, a big effort, and no way would the WH have been unaware it was happening. If it had been a "mistake" they could have corrected it. They made no effort to do so.What does that tell us. Besides, it isn't even rational to close down an entire park and move the press many blocks away as an interpetation of standing back in order to alow them to arrest someone. Even a total rookie would know that.

10.  Yeah they want the Park Service to look like total morons. I said my piece above.
Isn't it odd they have no such incidents with teabaggers?

6. WOW. Where is the transparency here? This is disgusting.
I guess freedom of the press is now an illusion too. Funny , no one prevented coverage of the teabaggers. And no one closed the park because of them. But the DADT protesters can't even to allowed to be seen? This makes me very angry.

13. No shit.
Rednecks with guns strapped to every body part, lying about tax policies and your heritage? Sure, why not?

Gay people protesting discrimination? Well, obviously we have to stop THAT.

This is a real smack in the face to your supporters, Mr. President. I am appalled.

24. If people would read the teabagger manifesto on their website then they might see
why this WH has turned a blind eye to them; their ultimate goal is to support the "free market" through complete deregulation; the very thing that caused the economic collapse to begin with, and the very thing that the oligarchy continues to promote.

11. On edit, I see that this was the park police and not the White House.
Edited on Wed Apr-21-10 01:49 PM by onehandle
That being said, you can only push the Secret Service so far. And chaining yourself to the White House fence is considered an 'incursion.'

I support the cause, but the chaining seems to be a reoccurring thing. I'm not surprised by this reaction, whoever it was.

15.  I seem to remember John Kerry and the Viet War Veterans chaining themselves to the WH in protest
Edited on Wed Apr-21-10 02:08 PM by saracat
and Cindy Sheehan also did so,but I guess this reaction should have been expected because these are Gay Americans and are to be treated differently..And the Park Police are only taking the fall. They work for the WH. There is not acceptable reason to shut out the press and the WH does not have a good reason to do so.

28. No, the White House did not close the park.
Apparently the truth is irrelevant in the drive to demonize this White House.
