No, what you've got here is a scary minority, one whose leaders stand up at rallies and say things like:

' I pray to God that this revolt is one that we can handle with a ballot. Because if we can't handle with a ballot, God forbid what comes next. If it isn't a ballot, at some point it will be a bullet.'

Who were raised in hunting or sharp-shooting families who have a great respect for gun making, collecting, stock checkering, etc., who would never think of carrying a loaded weapon in public, concealed or not. They aren't very outspoken... Loud doesn't mean right, with TeaBaggers or gun enthusiasts.

Why does everyone (including us) take these Tea people so seriously?

The over-attention paid to the Tea Party will probably end up working in our favor: The more people see and hear these nuts, the more likely they will get out and vote against them next fall. The more they whine about taxes, the more it is pointed out that taxes went down this year and are at an all-time low.
