Beck completely loses it; Claims he's doing "God's Work"
http://www.politicususa.com/en/theocrat-glenn-beck

On his radio show yesterday, Glenn Beck finally seems to have gone off the cliff as he not only claimed that God has given him a plan, but also he is carrying out God’s will and anger. Beck told his listeners that they it is God’s will that they get behind him and follow him. He said, “When we were starting the TV show there are things that I did that I wouldn’t do now because I had to be more of an entertainer.”

(audio clip from Media Matters at link)

He is morphing into a political cult leader who is intent on overthrowing our government in the name of the Founding Fathers. In typical cult leader fashion Beck starts out by claiming that although he is not God, he is doing God’s will, which is why people should follow him. Beck believes that the Founding Fathers were guided by God, but it is too bad that the Founding Fathers didn’t believe that they were being guided by God.

The Clip is TERRIFYING.

1. Oh good grief.
Does Beck know that this kind of stuff is only said by people who are off their meds?

It's hard to believe the teabaggers and Faux-newsers will STILL adore him after this - but they will.

3. The clip is nearly hypnotic. He is much more effective on
radio than he is on TV. Imagine yourself as a low-information fox devotee, and listen to that thing..Tell me he isn't inciting to violence...

Palin was talking about her bizarre calling just the other day. Limbaugh's believes that the volcano is also a sign from God over health care reform. The one that really got me was the Senate GOP prayer meeting to block health care for the poor and struggling. They should have been struck down for that one.

12. Better yet...
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me..."

Matt 7: 21-23

Clue train, Repukes - Jesus loved the poor and needy. You emphatically do NOT. Get ready to hear the words above.

they do ,however, believe their teabagging fans are stupid enough to believe them when they claim to be speaking with "God's voice". P.T. Barnum was right.

38. SOMEBODY'S got to be the FUHRER!

SOMEBODY!

SOMEBODY has to DO it!

So it's got to be HIM. HIM!

Who ELSE could it be?

It would have to be SOMEBODY!

So it's got to be:

GLENN BECK!

He heard the voice through MILLIONS!

MILLIONS!

Why ELSE would they be listening, if not to bow and genuflect before him?!

He heard them CALLING!

MILLIONS CALLING TO HIM!

To Glenn Beck!

VOICES FROM THE ETHER!

This could only mean ONE thing!

He's the FUHRER!

Come out of your little homes and cottages and villages!

Gather round the mountaintop!

Pay homage and bow!

It's Fuhrer Beck!

11. In the late 1960's I worked at a psychiatric hospital and Beck
would easily have fit in with the more seriously ill of the demented population. In fact, when he drags out his chalkboard, he reminds me of one particular patient who did a similar thing with a note pad.

13. Too bad God couldn't win them the last election
The Devil must be stronger, cuz McCain/Palin got tromped!

Glen Beck and God? The closest he gets to a god is the fact he is a goddamned idiot, and the idiots who listen to him must be desperate because they are tuning to a cable channel to find out what their god is saying. You'd think a god with any omnipotence could at least use network channels!

If it weren't so funny, it would be sad.

to the "religion business" by claiming that God is talking to us directly through him. This ruse is on a par with the "found a bag of money" routine frequently used to steal money from vulnerable people.

A some point Americans have got to reject and eject this type of public behavior by exposing it for what it really is. Keith Obermann made a good start on his program last night.

Beck's use of racism, hyperbole, chauvinism, instigating, and outright douche-baggery is certainly not God's work.

If he truly listened to God's word, he'd know about false prophets and Pharisees.

26. Could this be a terrible misreading of Mormon theology?
I was raised in a Mormon family, but we all had pretty much fallen away by the time I was a teenager. So, I have gone to seminary (Mormon seminary classes are for high school kids Monday through Friday), but I have not received the endowments (part of what happens in the Mormon temple). Beck's word choices remind of the Doctrine and Covenants (prophetical writings of Joseph Smith). I have to wonder if he has come to believe he's a prophet.

Apologies to any Saints I may have offended.

Hell, by the standard for sanity and danger to society set by the fact that Beck has radio and TV shows, Manson isn't really out of touch with societal norms anymore.

34. Multiple thoughts...
1) this can only end badly, very, very badly for adherents to this lunacy - when people become freed from the moorings of society and isolate themselves into apocalyptic delusions they are so easily swayed that they can believe a failed preacher is God or a failed musician is Jesus. This is well-documented.

2) Beck is going to eventually 'give the order' and it will cause a lot of people to die either in an ill-advised and doomed insurrection - the gun-nuts do not stand a snowball's chance in hell of standing up to the US military in an actual armed confrontation the likes that they current sabre rattle in support of - or a mass suicide after Obama wins re-election in 2012 by stomping the Palin-ized GOP candidate (THOSE debates are going to be historical beat downs the likes of which we have rarely seen on the world stage...think Scopes Monkey Trial in real life instead of fictionalized)...

3) I take it very personally to see someone so clearly wishing for cataclysmic events to "prove" he was in the know and to justify his evil. Glenn Beck, I have a message for you from 'god' - STOP! PLEASE, stop your shows on all forms of mass media. Take the millions of dollars that you have 'earned' and seek out the very best in-patient facility in the country and have yourself committed for psychiatric care IMMEDIATELY. If you do not, and you persist in this destructive path on which you are currently on, then you WILL be held accountable and responsible for the results.
