How are those 2 new Republican governors doing?
Well the one in Virginia has declared confederate history month (with no mention of slavery) and the one in NJ has declared open war on teachers, mass transit users and the poor and middle class. This should be the main story, what a huge mistake it is to elect these new Republicans to office.

1. AZ's is also a real loser
She ascended from Secretary of State when Janet Napolitano became head of DHS. She and neo-Libertarian legislature have gutted education funding, ended health care to poor children, drastically reduced services all because they made a promise to Grover Norquist not to raise taxes or implement new ones. Brewer is an uneducated tool and she has the hubris to run for governor in her own right. She won't win and will probably lose the primary.

What really bugs me - businesses get a tax deduction for filing their taxes, I don't.

3. Not a bright move on the Obama team's part to take Napolitano to head an agency

that ought never to have been amalgamated in the first place.

It's not like folks didn't see that one coming from a mile away- some right here on DU.

but they often already have jobs.

5. She probably will, or someone worse
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

And the one thing that living in Arizona for 8 years convinced me of was that stupid people abound in that state.

9. In the paper this morning, one person called AZ "The New Alabama"
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 09:58 AM by Catshrink
this was in reference to the pending changes in the immigration law, i.e. "we can stop you if you're brown." If Brewer signed it, and she will, it will mean that we have to carry our papers, just like in Nazi Germany. Yep, Arizona is full of real Americans.

Fucking teabaggers so worried about socialism they can't see the fascism creep. After reading and seeing news accounts about these tools' tea parties this week and all the socialism talk, once, just once, I'd love to hear someone ask one of these bloviators:

1) What does socialism mean to you? (do you know what you're talking about?)
2) Are you on medicare?
3) Are you aware that it's a socialist program?
4) Are you willing to tear up your medicare card?)

I'm not holding my breath.

7. Independents and Democrats who didn't vote
I also blame former Governor Wilder. It might have made a difference if he had endorsed Deeds, instead of sitting on his hands and stating that McDonnell and Deeds were both honorable men.
