Waxman Pitchman for Jane Harman
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 08:53 AM by SLSmith
Henry Waxman this weekend worked overtime in promoting Jane Harman to the delegates at the California Democratic Convention. On Thursday Henry Waxman did Robocalls to the delegates.

Just posted on Jane Harman's facebook page is a A note from Henry Waxman today...

A note from Henry Waxman today..."my district is right next to Jane Harman's. She was my ally in passing historic health care reform and energy legislation; she is strongly supported by the overwhelming majority of delegates in her district - 72% - and by me. Please don't sign a petition or vote to overturn Jane's... endorsement at the Convention. We need to keep effective leaders like Jane in Congress."

As a side note, Jane Harman's facebook page has been virtually dormant until the last week when Marcy Winograd was successful in getting the California Democratic Party to pull their pre-endorsement of Jane Harman.

1. Just because you don't like Harman is no reason to disparage Waxman.
Makes you look like a fool. We have far too few good Dems. This tactic sucks.

2. Sorry I disagree
Henry Waxman is my congressman. I do not like the fact that he is supporting a representative who is pro-war - it's that simple. Nor do I respect the fact that Woolsey and Waxman were both used and/or co-sponsored a fundraiser for Harman in January.

But I respect your comments and I understand - I just don't agree.

3. Political reality
Imagine Waxman raising hell about Harman like we'd all love to see.

He would be creating a divide in the party and open himself up to attacks from within and without.

Waxman needs all the friends he can get.
He has been left out on a limb so many times it's a wonder he sticks around.

All that an the idea that he may have a touch of Potomac Fever, too.

5. The intelligent view of political reality in an anti-incumbant year is to just stay out of it
HUGE political mistake on Democrats part to circle their wagons around crap insiders.

Want to lose the house? Then this is one of the "best" strategies to pursue.

4. Didn't J. Harman
commit something illegal, supporting Israel for something that was detrimental to the U.S. security?
