The Iraq parliament's recess, starting this July, would likely come without Baghdad politicians reaching agreements considered key to easing sectarian tensions. Examples include regulating distribution of the country's oil wealth and reversing measures that have excluded many Sunnis from jobs and government positions because of Baath party membership.

Iraqi politicians said Thursday the break might not happen or may be less than two months, but said it should be of no concern to U.S. lawmakers.

That might be better known by it's unofficial names, "The Dick Cheney Legalised Plundering Act" or "The Hostile Acquisition of Iraq National Oil Accord"

If I were the Iraqi's, I'd stay on recess until 1/20/09 or the troops leave, whichever comes first.

U.S. lawmakers have no room to talk. They worked 72 days in 2006.

And while our troops are packing to leave, let's set up the Iraqi parliament in their own offices, some large, airy bulding outside the Green Zone. Afterall, why should their business -- or their safety -- be any concern of ours?
