Grassley continues fight against citizens who question him
Iowa's one and only Chuck Grassley has once again taken to replying to a letter to the editor that criticizes him.
I find this odd behavior for a sitting senator. But if it helps defeat him, I hope he keeps it up!

To the Editor:

XXXXXXXX's April 8 letter misses the facts about the issues involved when the president circumvented the constitutional advise-and-consent role of the Senate with a nomination to a top government position.

In the case of Alan Bersin, the problem wasn't his resume, which Nelson touts. In fact, on a bipartisan basis, there were unresolved questions about inconsistent information and documentation of various household employees.

The issue was relevant because the commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection oversees the enforcement of immigration laws.
It was a matter of accountability that was left unresolved.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, Washington, D.C.

So, uh, Chuck - you've been sitting on this for 7 months. Why not say something?

1. Perhaps I missed his outrage at Bush's recess appointments?

I know Chuck is getting old and slow; perhaps it's on his to-do list.

2. The criticism was for Grassley sitting on Bersin's nomination
and doing nothing.
