Police: NJ teen told blacks to leave Whole Foods
Police in northern New Jersey say a 14-year-old girl grabbed a supermarket microphone and announced, "All blacks leave the store."

The case is nearly identical to what happened on two occasions at a southern New Jersey Walmart.

Edgewater police say the new case is being investigated as a possible "copycat" situation. They say they were called after the girl made the announcement over the Whole Foods Market's public-address system Saturday afternoon.

The girl, whose name was not released because of her age, is charged with bias intimidation and harassment.

In the Walmart case, a 16-year-old boy faces the same charges after police said he twice ordered all blacks to leave the store.

37. Thats KIND of my point, but not exactly.
Actually, I'd like the people in the store to recognize that We the People agree that such behavior is not acceptable. No tears, but a BIG LESSON if everyone in the store BOOOOOOed the 'kids,' or somesuch.

68. i have to say
that my teenage daughter might get riled up enough over stuff like this to get into a physical alteration. She is pretty liberal, and definitely not the sit back and take it type.

I would not encourage it if anyone is wondering.

19. I agree, no permanent damage.
Who would think that this so-called progressive crowd here

First, would not understand a dramatization without 'sarcasm' smilie, and

Second, would not understand the need for this SOCIETY TO SAY NO, to these 'fine white kids,' and reflect that need by making a clear statement to that effect, IN PUBLIC?

CBGL, I'm not speaking directly to you, but to posters who 'flamed' me for suggesting I would have wanted to kick their asses for this shit, and were surprised that such would be said here. (No permanent damage, of course.)

that NO ONE HERE 'fantasizes about violence against minor children.'

'By saying nothing and avoiding confrontation you let these people think that what they said is fine. And they continue knowing that while they may have to act respectable in public they don't have to actually change their attitudes in private.'

{Thanks due to Raineyb for this.}

Ha, ha, it was just a joke/sarcasm/whatever, I can say anything I want and wriggle out of it. I know the drill.

It doesn't help your position to quote Raineyb, who also writes: "I for one wouldn't waste any tears over some fucking bigot." Now maybe it's fine by you and Raineyb if revenge violence comes to this minor child who did something very foul, in addition to the just but humane chastisement she stands to endure under the legal system; but violence in society is not something you can confine to people you don't like. If you favor brutalizing people you don't like, that is your choice, but know that you and your children will have to walk the same streets as them after they are hardened and brutalized. Same for all the characters here who chortle over prison rape.

66. Excuse you? If you want to know what Raineyb means, you might want to ask
her. That would be me.

I'll skip the more likely than not erroneous assumption that she will be at all chastised for what she did. More likely than not she'll end up with some pathetic community service bullshit which won't teach her a damn thing. (Something an ass kicking probably would if it were something I were to endorse.) That backwards B bitch didn't get anything stronger than community service for her bit of foolishness. There doesn't seem to be all that much stomach for actually punishing these racist fuckwits but I digress.

I don't recall saying that I condone or endorse violence falling upon this rather foul excuse for a spawn. However, considering the multitude of things going on in the world and personally I damn sure am not inclined to waste any time contemplating it in any detail. Why the hell should I?

Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of people thinking that this kind of foolishness is no big deal. It is a big deal. At least for those of us who don't need reminders that we are considered second class citizens in the country we were born in.

They are producing little brown shirts by the dozen daily in their private schools.

29. Why? There are plenty of "fine upstanding citizens" who are racist as hell.
Especially when they think the people around them will put up with it.

Which is exactly why more white people need to speak up. All those times when you have some people who are loathe to say anything and confront someone who says something that's clearly racist in front of them. By saying nothing and avoiding confrontation you let these people think that what they said is fine. And they continue knowing that while they may have to act respectable in public they don't have to actually change their attitudes in private.

I haven't bought gas in the city. Bad in Brooklyn, eh? but we can't figure out the reason for variations in price, from place to place, can we?

Intended to insure jobs for service station employees, right?

FUNNY: Daughter went to college in Philly; many friends were from Jersey. They all asked Amy to pump their gas (in PA) because they DIDN'T KNOW HOW! LOVE that story!

64. Jersey is cheaper
because they have fewer taxes on gas there. (Considering how craptacular the financial situation of the state is at the moment, I expect them to increase soon.) Many a NYer will relish the chances to fill 'em up if they have to cross one of the tunnels into Jersey. My family all live there, so I make it down quite often.

TJ doesn't like one of the Colorado blue laws (can't remember which one) - but we repealed pretty much all of it.

Wonder what's left of the blue law we still have that TJ doesn't like.

Wife absolutely loves TJ, and wants to see one here. In the meantime, we do have two alternatives to Whole Paycheck - Sunflower Market and Sprouts - which are pretty nice.

I wonder what would have happened if she tried that in a traditionally Black neighborhood? Does she have enough guts for that?

Otherwise, they'll probably give this little hussy a slap on the wrists and put her in some thirty-minute racial sensitivity counseling. And then, she'll be back at it again. After all, she probably "doesn't see" what's wrong with what she did.

And her clueless parents will help her "not see" as well.

46. It's times like this that I'm reminded how tough it is to be Black in America.
Me: Why God?! Why?! What did I do to be born Black that I am hated so...?!

Pat Robertson: And you're Haitian too...It's all that voodoo, you turned your backs on God. If you didn't, you'd be White and happy.

Me: Oh...But I'm Catholic.

 Black people have it hard man. And that's putting it mildly.

49. Poor little insecure thing
..has to try and make herself feel better about something..even if it's only because she thinks her skin color does it and not her intelligence.

Sad, really.

76. It was a copycat prank
14 year olds often lack judgment and do dumb things. She may not be a genuine bigot. None of us know. She may regret this little escapade the rest of her life. She won't forget it.

But only a very mean ugly person would advocate violence against a kid.
