Huckabee Attacks Gay Families

Mike Huckabee Attacks Gay Families, Compares Them to People Raising Puppies

Alvin McEwen
Posted: April 10, 2010 11:57 AM

In an interview with the College of New Jersey newsmagazine The Perspective, Fox News host Mike Huckabee seems to go all out against the lgbt community, attacking not only same-sex marriage but also lgbt families:

"I think there's been a real level of being disingenuous on the part of the gay and lesbian community with their goal of civil unions," he alleged, referring to LGBT activists who first claimed that their goal in several states was to enact civil unions, but subsequently launched efforts to implement full marriage rights.

Huckabee went on to draw parallels between homosexuality and other lifestyles that are considered by some to be morally aberrant. "You don't go ahead and accommodate every behavioral pattern that is against the ideal," he said of same-sex marriage. "That would be like saying, well, there are a lot of people who like to use drugs, so let's go ahead and accommodate those who want who use drugs. There are some people who believe in incest, so we should accommodate them. There are people who believe in polygamy, so we should accommodate them."

<snip>

He also affirmed support for a law in Arkansas that prohibits same-sex couples from becoming adoptive or foster parents. "I think this is not about trying to create statements for people who want to change the basic fundamental definitions of family," Huckabee said. "And always we should act in the best interest of the children, not in the seeming interest of the adults."

"Children are not puppies," he continued. "This is not a time to see if we can experiment and find out, how does this work?"

3. Huckabible needs to take a long, hard look at his own brood
because if that's what god fearing heterosexual Christians are producing these days, maybe all children should be brought up in gay families.

8. Yeah, like they win all the awards (NOT) for raising children in healthy holistic crime
free, drug free, divorce free, child abuse free, etc. environments. And if strong members of christian indoctrination centers (churches/schools), all the worse.

4. Huck, quit jacking Santorum's swagga!
Oh, the better slang term would be santorum, not swagga. Sen. Rick Santorum is the original founder of the argument that homosexuality will murder "traditional social norms", right? (In an interview with the Associated Press in 2003, Santorum compared homosexuality with bestiality, incest, and polygamy).

Here's the interesting thing. Two prospective Republican presidential candidates for 2012 work for the extremely anti-Obama, narrow-minded, pro-Bush, undeserving-of-the-word-news Fox News Channel. The other one is Sarah Palin, the Republican VP candidate in 2008 and Alaska governor who quit midterm last year. If Huck or Palin win the primaries in 2012, it surely shows how much tea has drained Republicans' brains, and if Huckabee and Palin are exposed as big-time Obama-bashers/smearers, we can roll over the GOP in 2012.

7. Oh, but Fox News is fair and balanced. I get all my news from there because
no other source tells you the truth. I trust Fox News all the way.
:sarcasm:

I swear, at some point in the future, Fox News will be linked to degenerative brain disorders and a CF ignorant nation.

6. What a complete ass and a F'en Bigot. Always a target, someone to persecute, that's
been the history throughout mankind of bigoted asses like this... What's next, the SS going after people.

Listening to RW bigoted jerks like this makes me support gay marriage more and more. Next he will be wanting to burn all of the books and heavily restrict the Internet so they can keep Americans dumbed down and bowing to asses like himself. Oh, I forgot, god appointed him a leader. F'en deranged delusional fools with a soapbox to preach from.

10. I have a pet name for him: Hugabe, as in Rober Mugabe.
He is a semi-educated oaf posing as a preacher. He never even finished college, much less a seminary with a graduate degree in theology. It seems that if you are fat enough, anyone can get 'em set up as a Babtist preacher. He is no longer fat, so he is no longer jolly. He covered his slack jawed corpulent son's dog torture and God only knows what else, pardoned a rapist who had found Jesus and then dude went and raped and killed. I shudder at the thought of having to suffer through a "sermon" by him! I had thought they had outlawed cruel and unusual punishment in the Constitution.

11. Huckabee did graduate from college.
He graduated magna cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University, completing his bachelor's degree in Religion in 2½ years before attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He dropped out of seminary after one year in order to take a job in Christian broadcasting.
