Karl Rove in KC - graphic pictures (No we didn't get to arrest him.)
Edited on Sat Apr-10-10 03:38 PM by proud2BlibKansan
No we didn't see him and no we didn't get to arrest him. Darn. On my way there I passed by the Marriott Hotel and saw a big bus pull up in front and people in suits get on. So I wondered if that was where the war criminal was staying. Then later I saw that same bus pull up behind the Sprint Center where he was speaking so I gathered they snuck the war criminal in the back door.

But that's okay cause we got to see his fans. And oh boy. All white. Most at least 50. Plenty of walkers and wheelchairs. What a crowd.

First face I saw when I got there was this guy. He looked familiar. I thought I had maybe just seen him around town. But then we realized this is the guy who testified as a character witness at Scott Roeder's sentencing hearing last week. I even said "Aren't you the guy I saw on TV last week?" And he said "Yes, that was me." Then he started preaching to me about the evils of abortion and I walked away.

Then the bus pulled up.

And the local right wing radio station set up a booth.

And the Phelps clones were across the street. This isn't the Phelps family; it's a church here in KC that imitates the Phelps crew. Loved how this picture was framed.

Then the crowd started arriving. In their flag desecrating shirts.

What is it with these teaklanners and red? I have never seem so much red in my life. Color of blood. Nice impact.

We called this one the suburban hooker. She arrived in a big SUV that dropped her off and she walked around like she was looking for her date. Bizarre.

We were standing right in front of the arena holding our signs and the folks arriving to see the war criminal walked by us. Some ignored us, most shook their heads and laughed and a few flipped us off. Then there were those who wanted to take our picture. We always smiled and held up the peace sign. I held up three fingers and said "Read between the lines!" No reaction so I guess it was too deep for them.

This guy must not know that St Ronnie of Ray Guns is DEAD.

This guy was really mad. He stood there and yelled at us for quite awhile.

Huh?

Ok, in case you are wondering why some of these folks were angry, (one guy even called the cops to turn us in) here are our signs:

One lady came up to us and was angry because "I have my grandchildren here!!" And we told her that bringing her grandkids to see a war criminal is far more offensive than any of our signs.

In case you were wondering, yes the teaklanners had signs. There were three of them. This is my favorite:

After I took her picture, I told her she had a misspelled word on her sign. She said no she did not. I said "Yes, I teach elementary school and that word is on the 2nd grade list." She gave me a funny look and her friend turned to her and said "Oh. she's right! It is spelled wrong! You should have left out the apostrophe!!"

The woman with the sign gave her friend an even funnier look which I interpreted to mean she didn't know what an apostrophe was. I had to walk away cause I didn't want to laugh at her.

Now I am sure you are also wondering about the racial makeup of the crowd. We did ask several of the teaklanners where all their black friends were. We also reminded them that KC has a lot of Hispanic people and surely they could have invited some to join them. Or Asians. Then finally we saw this guy. He was dressed in red so I was thinking we finally found the one African American guy who was attending this event. But we found out he worked there at Sprint Center:

And this guy was walking by and took our picture:

Now for the numbers. Sprint Arena holds 20,000. Today's event sold a grand total of 3000 tickets. They were priced from $45 to $150. I guess there is no depression in La La Teaklan world! At least not for 3000 people.

We left as soon as the event started and the sidewalk cleared out. On my way back to my car, I passed by this parking lot which is right across the street from Sprint Center and usually fills up immediately when there is an event there. This is probably my favorite picture of all.

And this lovely truck was around the corner as I drove home:

10. It's 1861 all over again. The U.S. should just decide between 2 colors and only wear those 2.
The teabaggers are just a separate, loon quadrant among the bigger asylum of the Republican party, who decided they had the goods to "take it back" about 30 SECONDS after Obama was elected.

Parked in front of it and behind it. And they stood near it most of the time we were there. They left to come over and tell us that someone had called 911 to report one of our signs said "FUCK". One cop seemed irritated and the other one laughed.

But it was clear they were guarding that bus. Maybe the veterans' money was on it :)

has him scared to death.

Maybe they bused in all those people. We should watch the faces at his next venue, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same rightwing 'rent-a-crowd' that they bring to their events. Remember how they used the same photos of about four troops and repeated the photo to make it look like Bush was surrounded by troops?

Great photos and commentary ~ too bad you didn't get to see the war criminal.

On the sea of Candy-Apple Red - same thing on March 20th in D.C. . . . WHAT is with their incessant need for red shirts? I mean, it IS the color of STOP signs and all, so I guess it makes sense in a way. There was also a lot of white shirts and a lot of yellow (for the Gadsen contingent, I'm assuming).

Failing that, I started asking them if they knew anything about doin's on Wall Street: None of them had any idea as to the $$$$$~ size of the most recent Wall Street crash.

He is not a Movement Conservative -- he is a religious purist, radical evangelical Christian type, to the exclusion of movement (republican) conservatism. They are kinda rare. They remind me of the Westboro Baptists -- so outside the norm they are unpredictable.

21st Century. Unenlightened humans living at war with the rest of the country. Brought to us through the skills of Rove and a baron clan. Nicely planned and orchestrated. The God Job Founders and Funders did a magnificent and through number on their voting base - their Christian movement. They finessed their voters. Now we can only ask, are they in or out of control?

God Job Founders and Funders is just my name for those who launched this Christian thing off. They sratched the Christians and made them vocal. I still haven't figured out what happened to scratch the passion of men against abortion.

I wouldn't have a Sprint phone if they gave it to me free.

73. If I had forty five bucks to blow
I'd spend it on my kids. I sure as fuck would not spend it on two people that are only trying to justify a career of lies an deception. Hannity takes the money from these people in the name of charity. He's a repuke, they don't do charity. Ever. Ever. They lie they steal from the poor and give to the rich. they're liars.
