Republicans At the SRLC
I have not actually been watching any of the speakers at the SRLC, but I did just watch a news story that discussed some of the things that had been said at that event. The things these people are saying about President Obama are just crazy. I do not support all of President Obama's ideas, but these people are just being ridiculous.

It seems that the theme for this event is President Obama is abandoning our allies, supporting our enemies, and leaving our country vulnerable. In the piece Liz Cheney was shown saying something similar to what was mentioned in the previous sentence. Other speakers, including Sarah Palin, seemed to promote the same ideas in their speeches.

There is not proof that President Obama is doing what the Republican at the SRLC are claiming he is doing. What allies has Obama abandoned? Has he closed any military bases in foreign countries? Has he sent out notice that he will not seek to support any of America's allies? Has he removed troops from either Afghanistan or Iraq. I would answer no to all these questions. In addition, President Obama increased the defense budget. In terms of supporting our enemies, what enemy is he supporting?

As far as their comments about the new nuclear treaty their arguement are flawed. The new policy does not change the U.S. government's stance on countries like Iran and North Korea. It only changes the policy regarding non-nuclear states.

1. I just love the irony of them calling Obama "radical"...
...There are few things in this nation more "radical" than a Southern Republican.

I think we know the answer to that.

These people remind me of the Birchers in the 60's. Difference is that Birchers were recognized to the kooks that they were, They sure as hell weren't promoted all the time.
