McVey was a classic example of the mindset that gives birth to the madness of a suicide bomber. I think it is a serious mistake to ever discount the possibility of it happening here in the US. The only thing that has headed it off thus far has been the fact that times were "too good." The average garden variety fanatic has been too comfortable to give it up completely.

People are hard up now, and that is gonna make it a lot easier for the fanatics to step up. Never underestimate what lengths a hungry or scared man will do if they are without hope. They go hungry long enough they can't run away any more--let alone run fast.

crazy is crazy. terrorists of all stripes are regressive despots living out fantasy. suicide bombing is about desperation. truck bombing fed buildings is about decadence.
