Tell Discovery to Pull Sarah Palin's Show!

Target: David Zaslav President & CEO, Discovery Communications
Sponsored by: Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund

Discovery Communications usually celebrates nature and wildlife, but by signing a deal with former governor Sarah Palin to host a reality show about Alaska, it will now pay millions to one of wildlife's greatest enemies.

As governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin fought against protecting the Cook Inlet beluga whales and the dwindling population of polar bears. Plus, she escalated the bloody aerial wolf-killing campaign, and even planned to offer a $150 bounty for the severed forelimb of each killed wolf.

The same company that owns Animal Planet and is known for their stunning wildlife-focused shows has no business hiring someone as anti-wildlife as Sarah Palin. Tell Discovery Communications that Sarah Palin doesn't deserve to host a show about "the powerful beauty of Alaska."

2. It may or may not have an effect I would suggest doing the following:
This method is available with DirecTv. Bring up Guide with the remote and select the Discovery Channel and then check the programming for the next 2 weeks to see if the show in question is scheduled. With the remote make sure the show is highlighted and then press the "Thumbs Down" button 3 times. This will indicate that it is not a favorite program.

The method may be available with DishTv and cable companies. The above method may not do anything as far as providing viewer results to Discovery or other channels. But maybe it does.

4. I don't think information can flow from your puny little dish to the satellite.

You'd need a hell of a transmitter.

6. Why stand in the way of another opportunity for this nit-wit's failure?
You can count on plenty of footage to support stupid and guaranteed intellectual bankruptcy!

Oh, yah, youbetcha!

7. There's Comedy Gold In Them Thar Wasilla Hills...
We've seen that even the best political handler can't put enough lipstick to cover up this walking reality show. The late night shows will have their cups runneth over in new material.

10. Why stop this? It's like a guaranteed micro-scandal generator
It sounds like a fun show, actually. I'd watch, if I had a tv. Plus think of all the crazy shit she'll end up saying--it's a sure fire way to build ammunition against her in the unlikely even the Republicans ever nominate her for anything ever again.

12. It's embarrassing for Alaskans
to have her representing us in ANY capacity at this point. Before the Iditarod, a PSA featuring Sarah touting the race was shown on TV I think only one time before it was pulled because of complaints. The ad had been on the Iditarod Trail Committee website and they, too, were forced to pull it. She does not represent Alaska or Alaskans. It's a farce to have her host this show.

Give me crab guys, Tougher in Alaska, Ice Road Truckers, Chris McCandless -- hell, even Timothy Treadwell, the grizzly man -- but PLEASE don't give me Sarah Palin.
