IF Bush had nominated a 'moderate' to SCOTUS What would RW Conserv Fundie Repubs Have Done?

Can you imagine protests in the streets?

Progressives need to make it clear that moving the SCOTUS further to the right is not acceptable.

Compromise does not always mean moving further to the right to satisfy obstructionist Repubs and their RW conservative fundamentalist masters.

Roberts and Alito got through the confirmation process as candidates on the far right, and Repubs preached that ideology did not matter, only if they were qualified.

It's time for a dose of the same for the progressive left. Put a 'well qualified' nominee out there who maintains the same ideological stance as Stevens.
